Korinna Horta


Dr. Korinna Horta has more than twenty years of experience of environmental policy analysis and international advocacy.

She holds Ph.D. from the University of London, an M.A. from SAIS (Johns-Hopkins-University) in Washington, D.C. and a licenciatura from the Universidade Nova in Lisbon.

She has been a Yale University Stimson Fellow and a guest lecturer at universities in the U.S. and Europe. From 1990-2009 she served as a senior scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund in Washington, D.C.. At present she works on the environmental and social impacts of international finance for Urgewald, a non-governmental-organization. Since 2010 she also serves on the Compliance Review Panel at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C..

Based in Lisbon, she has published widely, including numerous book chapters and research papers as well as articles in The Harvard Human Rights Journal, The Yale Journal of International Affairs and The New Scientist.
